How do I get emergency shelter at the Hope Center?
Contact the Emergency Shelter at 360 West Loudon Avenue, Lexington, KY, or call 859-252-7881. The shelter operates 24/7 and serves up to 200 men nightly, with expanded capacity in winter. Guests receive lodging, showers, laundry access, clothing, and basic care items.
Where can I get a free meal in Lexington?
The Jacobs Hope Cafeteria at 299 West Loudon Avenue serves over 7,000 meals each month. Dinner is open to the public. Meal times: breakfast 6:30-7:30am weekdays (8-9am weekends), lunch 12-1pm, dinner 5-6pm. Call 859-543-2222 ext. 30.

How can I volunteer at the Hope Center?
Serve meals at the Jacobs Hope Cafeteria (up to six volunteers per meal, three meals daily), organize donations at the Emergency Shelter (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10am-12pm), or teach life-skills classes if you have expertise in banking, food service, or health. How old do you have to be to volunteer at the Hope Center?
Volunteers must be 12 or older; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
When can volunteers serve meals?
Breakfast 6:30-7:30am weekdays and 8-9am weekends, lunch 12-1pm, and dinner 5-6pm, seven days a week at the Jacobs Hope Cafeteria.

What items does the Hope Center accept as donations?
Clothing (donation bin in the Jacobs Hope Cafeteria parking lot, 299 W Loudon Ave) and food (side door of the cafeteria, 8am-6pm daily). Sandwich and sack-lunch donations for the HopeMobile are coordinated through the Volunteer page.
Does the Hope Center accept furniture donations?
Not currently. Furniture donations are referred to One Parent Scholar House, an agency of the Hope Center: oneparentscholarhouse.org, or contact Program Coordinator Alison Justice at 859-252-4828.
Where do I drop off donations?
Clothing: donation bin, Jacobs Hope Cafeteria parking lot, 299 W Loudon Ave, anytime. Food: cafeteria side door (adjacent to the parking lot), 8am-6pm daily.
