- 72 beds with up to 32 of them specifically designated for veterans that will provide transitional housing with supportive services.
What is the Quantrell Jones Center?
The Quantrell Jones Center is a new building run by The Hope Center in Lexington, KY.
It has 72 beds total, and 24 of those beds are set aside for people who served in the U.S. military and are now homeless.
This is more than just a place to sleep. The Center is a safe, stable place where people can live while they get help to rebuild their lives.
- People in Lexington who are homeless and need a safe place to live
- Veterans who are homeless (we have 24 beds for them)
- People leaving jail, the hospital, or other programs who need extra support before living on their own
- People with health or mental health issues who need both housing and services
At the Quantrell Jones Center, residents get:
- A safe bed and a clean place to stay
- Case managers who help make a plan for housing, work, and health
- Help getting into VA programs for veterans
- Referrals to mental health and addiction recovery services
- Support with job training and education
- Life skills classes like cooking, budgeting, and goal-setting
We believe in a low-barrier approach. This means we make it as easy as possible for people to get in, and we work with them on what they’re ready to do.
Homelessness is a growing problem in our city. Veterans are especially at risk because of challenges like PTSD, health issues, or lack of family support.
Recent counts show that 1,622 people are homeless in Lexington, and 116 are veterans.
There is also a shortage of affordable housing in Fayette County, which makes it harder for people to get back on their feet.
Stories of Hope
"I learned a lot about recovery from [The Hope Center]...I learned about how to grow spiritually and find my own higher power. They gave me a place to stay after I completed the program...this place was a safe haven for me when I didn't have anywhere else to go."
