Housing
Drug & Alcohol-Free Affordable Permanent Housing
The Hope Center currently has three drug- and alcohol-free efficiency apartment complexes that serve as affordable, permanent housing options for recovery program graduates. This recovery-oriented environment allows residents to better focus on their work, families, and maintaining their newfound sobriety. Residents live in single-occupancy apartments and have access to Hope Center’s employment, recovery, and social services programs, as well as the Health Clinic. The Don Ball Campus Center has 48 apartments for men, Hill Rise Place has 40 apartments for men, and the Barbara H. Rouse House has 44 apartments for women.
Veterans Program & Housing
Through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Hope Center provides free housing and supportive services to veterans experiencing homelessness in our community. Veterans who received a discharge status other than dishonorable may qualify for the program and receive individualized support tailored to their unique needs.
The Hope Center’s Veterans Coordinator works closely with each veteran to help navigate VA benefits, secure important documentation, and connect them with employment opportunities, healthcare resources, recovery support, and other essential services that promote long term stability and independence.
Since opening the new Veterans and Transitional Housing facility in 2024, veterans in the program now have access to improved living accommodations that provide greater privacy, comfort, and dignity. The facility features individual rooms and expanded supportive services designed to create a safe and stable environment where veterans can focus on healing, rebuilding their lives, and preparing for permanent housing and long term success.
Transitional Housing
Over the last 30 years, the Hope Center has provided emergency housing in our shelter and built three permanent, affordable housing facilities. Now, as housing costs climb, we see the people we serve in need of a transitional step while they get back on their feet. In June 2023, we broke ground on a new Veterans and Transitional Housing facility on the Emergency Shelter property. There will also be a new courtyard space for clients to enjoy between the existing shelter and new facility. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2024. This expansion adds a total of 18,674 square feet of space across two floors. It will include 72 beds for transitional housing, 24 of which will be designated for veterans. This expansion will allow us to serve clients in a new way as we help them rebuild their lives with a goal of sustainable, independent living.
