This year’s class is made up of 52 individuals representing a wide range of industries and organizations throughout the Lexington community. Participants are selected for their demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and commitment to making a positive difference. Throughout the year long program, class members will gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing Lexington while learning from influential community leaders and experts.
“I am incredibly honored to be selected for Leadership Lexington,” said Kara Ball. “This is an amazing opportunity to learn from some of our community’s most respected leaders, build meaningful relationships, and discover new ways to serve Lexington. I look forward to bringing the knowledge and connections I gain back to the Hope Center as we continue our mission of providing hope and transforming lives.”
The program begins with an Orientation Retreat at Boone Tavern on August 6 and 7, where participants will focus on leadership development, review their DiSC Assessment results, and select a community project from proposals presented by fellow classmates. From September through June, the class will meet monthly at locations throughout the region to explore topics including government, education, public safety, economic development, the arts, the equine industry, diversity, health and human services, and leadership development through interactive discussions, tours, and hands on experiences.
Commerce Lexington’s Director of Leadership Development, Tyra Harbut, shared her excitement for the incoming class.
