HopeMobile & Street Outreach

The HopeMobile and Street Outreach Team are lifesaving programs of the Hope Center, designed to meet people where they are. Together, they provide food, water, healthcare, hygiene items, and connections to recovery — while building trust with men and women who may not be ready or able to enter shelter services.

About the HopeMobile

The HopeMobile is a custom outreach vehicle staffed by a nurse and a caseworker. It operates on a set schedule each weekday, parking at churches and community sites downtown to provide essentials and immediate care.

Services include:

  • Food, water, and hygiene kits
  • Basic healthcare and wound care
  • Referrals to the Hope Center or partner agencies
  • Overdose prevention resources, including Narcan

HopeMobile Weekly Schedule (7:30 AM – 1:30 PM):

  • Mondays – Calvary Baptist Church, 150 E. High St.
  • Tuesdays – Woodland Christian Church, 530 E. High St.
  • Wednesdays – Maxwell St. Presbyterian Church, 180 Maxwell St.
  • Thursdays & Fridays – Broadway Christian Church, 187 N. Broadway

By consistently showing up, the HopeMobile builds trust and provides care to people who might otherwise go without help.

About Street Outreach

The Street Outreach Team partners with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government to connect with people living unsheltered across the city. Outreach workers carry and distribute:

  • Food, water, blankets, and clothing
  • Hygiene kits and basic supplies
  • Narcan for overdose prevention

Equally important, the team provides referrals to shelter, recovery, and healthcare services, helping people take their first steps toward stability.

Why Outreach Matters

Not everyone experiencing homelessness can or will come to a shelter. For some, barriers include fear, trauma, mental illness, or safety concerns. Street outreach in Lexington, KY reduces those barriers by meeting people with compassion and consistency.

With more than 67 unsheltered people counted in Lexington in early 2025, programs like HopeMobile and Street Outreach provide critical relief — and open the door to long-term recovery.

Immediate Help & Referrals

By offering immediate essentials, these programs help individuals survive day to day. From there, staff and volunteers guide them toward:

  • Shelter at the Hope Center
  • Recovery programs
  • Medical care and mental health support
  • Employment and housing services

Outreach is not just about emergency aid — it’s about creating a bridge to hope.
