Our Mental Health staff also includes Sara LaForce, our Dual Diagnosis Program Facilitator, and Shelby Palmer, Mental Health Assessor and Housing Support Specialist.
"I am very proud of the work that is accomplished by the clients and staff in the Dual Diagnosis Program. Our clients who are dually diagnosed are dealing with the interwoven issues of homelessness, substance abuse, and mental illness. In the Hope Center Mental Health and Dual Diagnosis Programs we are working to find recovery that is unique and meaningful to each of our clients. I am very proud to be a part of an agency that believes in helping clients toward recovery and above and beyond daily survival."

Hope Center volunteers come from all walks of life, and are all so generous with their unique talents. Caitlin Warnken is a nurse who leads a drumming circle with our Mental Health/DDP clients. We had the pleasure of sitting in - the clients had a great time, and Caitlin tells us that she enjoys it just as much as they do:
"I feel like I get more out of it than they do. It's great to see them come out of their shells, and watch that wonderful thing where they all slide into each other's rhythm, listening to and bonding with each other. It promotes the idea that we're all the same and we all have value." (3 photos) ... See MoreSee Less

The Hope Center gives support to One Parent Scholar House, which is a separate agency helping to rebuild the lives of young single parents who want to finish their college education. Yesterday Bonni Jiunta of Forcht Bank (pictured left) came to visit and bring gifts to the One Parent Scholar House. She took a tour of the facility with Carrie Thayer, Director of Development (middle) and Mirsada Simic, OPSH Program Director (right). We are happy to give tours of all Hope Center programs and facilities to supporters, donors and volunteers. Please message us and set it up today! You will be glad you took a closer look. Corporate and church groups are welcome. ... See MoreSee Less

Mental health issues keep nearly 25% of all homeless people on the streets. It is a critical issue, and a tremendously important part of what we do. Our Mental Health Program staff are dedicated professionals who are not only extremely qualified, but also incredibly passionate about helping those with severe mental health issues. Frank Sibert is our Mental Health Program Director - read what he loves about his work.
“Going into the field of Social Work, I knew that I wanted to work with those that had mental illness and substance abuse issues. Working in the Hope Center Mental Health Program, which also includes the Dual Diagnosis Program, provides me with the opportunity to work with these populations on a daily basis. It is such a rewarding experience to be able to see these clients overcome these obstacles and succeed in regaining their lives. Due to the efforts of all that are involved with the Hope Center, I have seen this miracle occur in many people’s lives during my time at the center. It is truly an honor and a joy to get to work with these individuals daily. It really makes coming to work truly enjoyable.” ... See MoreSee Less
